back from KOS

My friends and I spent our "A-level-holiday" (if such a term exists lol) on KOS, for one week.

We were not quite happy about the hotel and their staff. The rooms were okay, but there were those ugly little animals, like spiders and "kakalaken" running around. the food was more than bad which we always referred to as "the recycling", because food from lunch was then used (in a different mixture) in the evening.

the pool looked nice, but after a few days we knew that we HAD to avoid using it.. -no comment on this cuz it's too ugly.

We were told that our hotel is a place where many "maturanten" (people finishing the a-levels) tend to spend their holiday there, which was not true in reality. The average age of the guest was PLUS 60. So we felt more and more mature after some days LOL... no but it was quite strange and we were sort of disappointed cuz it was so different from we expected the holiday to be.

THe beach was nice and we got to know a life-guard and many military guys from the military area which we were not allowed to take any pictures of. LOL..

BUt there were also many good things about KOS. CLUBBING was more than amazing. it was the best clubbing week I've ever had.
Eve, Theresia, Tami alias SIMONE (on KOS) and I went clubbing the whole week thru which was so great.
There is the so-called "barstreet" in the center of the city with lots of great clubs and pubs and just some nice places to hang out. Our favourite "club" was the "white corner". All the barkeepers knew us after the first day and it was always much fun with them.

Our friend Tamara called herself "SIMONE" on Kos which was such a laugh. cuz all the barkeepers from the white corner and the pubs beside the white corner always shouted"SIMONE; SIMONE..." when they saw us.... it was so much fun and they played such a great music there which we had to dance a lot to.

What is quite typical about the barstreet, are the "free shots" you get offered when you go there.
There are some people on the street who stand there and wait for the tourists/guests to arrive. When we -as touists- go there, they go like "free shots for everyone, free shots for everyone" to get us into the club. MOst of the time we agreed LOL
But there was another thing we liked about the barstreet, especially about the white corner..the so called "happy hour". it was not only one hour where you get 2 cocktails and pay for one., no, the "happy hour" was all the time. HAHA which was really really great :)

moreover we got to know lots of great people->thx for the nice time LOL

the countryside of KOS is also quite nice and they have lots of great beaches on the island.

so now we are back with a great tan on our skin :) and look forward to the time here.

that's all for nowwwwwwww.....

INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!

the day has come where my friends and I are finished with school, finally...well, we are finished with grammar school but still have some years @uni ahead....

We all studied so much and so hard for the exams and did pretty well, i think. we can be proud of ourselves due to what we've achieved in those last few months. It were stressful and not always "pleasant" months, but at the end it was well-worth!!!! NEVER EVER (GRAMMAR) SCHOOL AGAIN :D

here is the link to the picture of our class :D http://http://www.gymbraunau.at/Slides.php?Schuljahr=2007-2008&Verz=RP&UB=Reifeprüfung%202008

yesterday evening was our "maturafeier" which was absolutely brilliant. we all were quite nervous and sort of shocked, cuz we'll probably see our teachers not that soon. on the one hand we are quite relieved about having sort of a distance to school and the teachers cuz sometimes it was quite nasty and annoying. BUt on the other hand we feel quite sorry not being able to keep in touch with all of them. :(

but anyways,----- > PARTY :D

something we have to think about!

Hello again,

it's been quite a few days since my last message here. BUt i was and still AM busy with studying :(...

my "spezialgebiet" (= my special issue??) for my oral a-levels in english is "46664". Some of you probably already heard of it. If not: It's an African response to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. Its main iniciator is Nelson Mandela. He and many international and national ambassadors try to raise awareness concerning this very big problem by making charity concerts. The first concert took place in 2003 in Cape Town, South Africa. Many artists from around the world came to perfom songs and gave a speech to the crowd and make people aware of how dangerous AIDS is and that WE ALL have to do something about it. THe money that is raised through these concerts is given to HIV/AIDS infected people in South Africa.

Did you know that 65% of the HIV/AIDS infected people live in the south africa???? Millions of people already died due to AIDS.
This fatal disease is not only a result of its easy and fast transmission. It's mainly a result of the bad social conditions in South Africa!! No one really seems to care about the problem and that's why i endorse this campaign of Nelson Mandela!!!

We should all keep on talking more about it, make people, especially young teenagers aware of how fast they can be infected by this disease!!

if you wanna know more about the campaign, you can check out the website www.46664.com

i studied my "spezialgebiet" this afternoon and i was totally shocked again. I mean it was hard to write about it. I did lots of research in the internet concerning 46664, nelson mandela, and AIDS in general and it's really horrible.

i like the comments of Nelson Mandela, like "give one minute of your life to AIDS" or " we hold the future of this continent in our hands"
Bono: "Aids is not a disease, it's a human rights issue" -he's right with what he said, i think.

it really is a human rights issue. many people exclude hiv/aids infected people and sort of keep that distance because they are scared or i don't know.
but i mean that must be horrible for the person suffering from Aids, being excluded, left behind. we shouldn't treat others like that.

well, just my personal thoughts about this problem!

:)

oh and btw the gig went well on june 1st :) was very good and lovely :) got a positive feedback even from my teacher haha :D *applauds*

It's not a normal sunday actually. I have to hurry up in a few minutes to get myself ready for the choir i am singing in. We've got a concert today in the evening. I am quite thrilled how it's gonna be but i am positive about that :)
We'Ve got a nice program with lots of great tunes :) haha

well but the problem is.. WHAT SHALL I WEAR??? I've been thinking about that questions for a few days and i still didn't come up with a solution :(....

men will probably now think "women and their problems" haha :) but that's so girly-girl like hihi :D
