Hello again,
it's been quite a few days since my last message here. BUt i was and still AM busy with studying :(...
my "spezialgebiet" (= my special issue??) for my oral a-levels in english is "46664". Some of you probably already heard of it. If not: It's an African response to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. Its main iniciator is Nelson Mandela. He and many international and national ambassadors try to raise awareness concerning this very big problem by making charity concerts. The first concert took place in 2003 in Cape Town, South Africa. Many artists from around the world came to perfom songs and gave a speech to the crowd and make people aware of how dangerous AIDS is and that WE ALL have to do something about it. THe money that is raised through these concerts is given to HIV/AIDS infected people in South Africa.
Did you know that 65% of the HIV/AIDS infected people live in the south africa???? Millions of people already died due to AIDS.
This fatal disease is not only a result of its easy and fast transmission. It's mainly a result of the bad social conditions in South Africa!! No one really seems to care about the problem and that's why i endorse this campaign of Nelson Mandela!!!
We should all keep on talking more about it, make people, especially young teenagers aware of how fast they can be infected by this disease!!
if you wanna know more about the campaign, you can check out the website www.46664.com
i studied my "spezialgebiet" this afternoon and i was totally shocked again. I mean it was hard to write about it. I did lots of research in the internet concerning 46664, nelson mandela, and AIDS in general and it's really horrible.
i like the comments of Nelson Mandela, like "give one minute of your life to AIDS" or " we hold the future of this continent in our hands"
Bono: "Aids is not a disease, it's a human rights issue" -he's right with what he said, i think.
it really is a human rights issue. many people exclude hiv/aids infected people and sort of keep that distance because they are scared or i don't know.
but i mean that must be horrible for the person suffering from Aids, being excluded, left behind. we shouldn't treat others like that.
well, just my personal thoughts about this problem!
:)
oh and btw the gig went well on june 1st :) was very good and lovely :) got a positive feedback even from my teacher haha :D *applauds*
